Scott Falls, Au Train

"
Scott Falls is a wonderful example of the many small waterfalls located though out Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Scott falls is located right on M-28 right across the road from the H.J Rathfoot roadside park ( which a has a great beach right on Lake Superior) about 2 mile east of Au Train.

cool! looks like a tight space though. how far did you have to walk back to get here?

It’s right off the highway, maybe 200 feet or so.

I’ve been to the roadside park…I’ve even been in the water at the beach there. But for some reason, though I’ve driven by the falls dozens of times, it never occurred to me to walk over to it and see it up close. I guess I have to do so now. ;-)

Have my hopes n dreams set on retireing up there in the near future and are presently looking for land and a house!

Wendi, please plan on paying appropriate property taxes to support our struggling school systems and decaying infrastructure up here, then. Thank you. (Otherwise, we would prefer you retire elsewhere. Just being honest.)

        Whose We?

        • Posted at by Anne | Permalink

Who is we? We are the people who have lived here all our lives and watched retirees unwilling to pay their fair share move in and decimate our lifestyle, not to mention turn out kids who can’t conjugate verbs. Just sayin’. A good public education, good roads, good public works departments, etc. take commitment from the people who live here, retired or not.

Your must be “The Anne”..the one who speaks for all of the upper peninsula. I think the tough economic times being experienced by the upper peninsula can hardy be blamed on retirees.

How does one avoid paying property taxes? I didn’t realize it was something that could be avoided.

Autrain River and Beach, great place to bring the family in the summer time. Busy highway though, watch the kids.

Great! I loved it! It’s funny because every year in July/Aug…it’s just a trickle of water. This is a great pic and love the pano!
