Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Michigan has a long and distinguished maritime history, from the earliest French explorers traversing Michigan’s waterways, to the giant lake and ocean freighters moving goods though the Great Lakes. Since its opening in 1960, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum has been celebrating that history.

• Marvel at the the Gothic Room that was savaged from the SS City of Detroit III
• Be amazed at the collection of scale model ships that make up the exhibit “City on the Straits”
