Drummond Island
Located just off the eastern tip of Michigan's upper peninsula, Drummond Island is one of my favorite vacation spots in Michigan.
Drummond Island is peaceful and quiet, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of other northern Michigan tourist destinations.
Drummond Island begs to be explored. From the the Alvars of the Maxton Plains, to the sandy beach at Big Shoal, to the miles of two track that criss cross the island.
If you get a chance to visit Drummond Island you must see.
1. The Drummond Island Historical Museum
2. The Maxton Plains.
3. Big Shoal Beach.
4. Fossil Beach ( 4x4 required) .
5. North Haven Gift Shop (buy one of James Kelly's books).
6. Mike Seaman the Puddingstone Guy (just ask anyone on the island) .
