"FishTown" Leland, Michigan
Located on the Leelanau peninsula, This 140 year old fishing village is one of my favorite places in Michigan.
The main street is lined with shops and art galleries, but really makes Leland special is "Fishtown" a collection of weathered fishing shanties on the the banks of the Leelanau river. Once these shanties were the home of the commerical fishing fleet that fished Lake Michigan. Now they house retail shops and galleries.
